It all began with two dreamers on a car ride. Colleen McShea, MS, CCC-SLP, and Catie Sondrol, MOTR/L had never met prior to a 6-hour car ride to northern Mohave County to evaluate a child. During the car ride, they shared a vision of a “one-stop” shop for pediatric therapy services in the rural area of Mohave County. This vision came together as they incorporated in January 2006 and began working nights and weekends in children’s homes for Milemarkers while they continued to hold full-time jobs. In March 2007, Milemarkers first “home” came to be and children began receiving services in the clinic. Since then Milemarkers has grown and now has a staff of 75 dedicated employees.

We are a non-profit agency that has served people with disabilities in Lake Havasu City since 1973. New Horizons is not only supported by this amazing city but believes that community involvement enriches everyone’s lives. We have developed programs that include active participation in local events, job support, and daily trips to different places for fun activities. All transportation is provided by us!

RISE Was Founded In 1987 And Began Serving Arizona In 1991, And Our Purpose Has Remained Constant For Over 30 Years. RISE connects with passionate people with those in need, offering programs and services as varied as the needs of the people they support:

The Shadows Foundation – based in Flagstaff, AZ. The Shadows Foundation supports those in need throughout northern Arizona, battling life threatening illness. The Shadows Foundation helps with various tasks such as providing meals, transportation, utility bills etc. In 2012 The Shadows Foundation branched out and began supporting first responders with a program that provides heart screenings – to help with early detection in this high-risk population. The Shadows Foundation, also teamed up with Flagstaff police to create a Better Bucks Program. Now donors can contribute vouchers to retailers instead of giving panhandlers cash. This avoids the purchase of tobacco and alcohol products. It truly provides needed assistance. The Better Bucks Program is moving across Arizona and launching in other communities. If you would like to volunteer, donate, or just learn more about The Shadows Foundation, you can find them on both Facebook and Instagram, or visit their website: www.ShadowsFoundation.org
